It's our 2nd Birthday!
Celebrate with us by joining this 4-part, one off event:
BEYOND the MAX
This event helps you move from good to great by blending technical insight with the deeper lessons of engineering responsibility, teamwork, and ethics.
You’ll leave with the clarity, confidence, and curiosity that define top-tier professionals — and a renewed sense of pride in your role within aviation’s ongoing evolution.
Over 4 sessions, this is your chance to understand what really happened — and how those lessons can shape the way you work, think, and lead.

Yes! I want to watch the replaysMeet Chris, your instructor
35+ years in Aviation Maintenance and Training
- Worked across Boeing & Airbus fleets (Europe, Middle East, Australia)
- Co-founder of The Part 66 Consultants & The AME Community
- Specialises in turning good engineers into great ones
Chris has trained thousands of engineers, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application — and guiding engineers to think not only about what they do, but why they do it.
“A good engineer follows the procedure. A great engineer understands why that procedure exists.”

Truly great engineers don’t just follow — they understand.
The story of the Boeing 737 MAX and the MCAS system represents one of the most defining chapters in modern aviation.
It changed not only how aircraft are designed and certified, but how engineers everywhere think about responsibility, ethics, and communication.
How Does It Work? What's Included?
Part 1 -
Introduction & Avionics
Here we look straight at the external (optical) differences between the NG and the MAX, with a brief look into what necessitated this change and why the MAX was developed the way it was.
After the “first glance” differences, we look at the upgraded avionics that Boeing installed on the MAX, including Fiber-optic data transfer for the for the MAX DISPLAY SYSTEM ®, advancements in navigation systems, plus some Auto-pilot upgrades post MCAS.
Runs approx 90mins
Part 2 -
Engine
We start off with the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), as this is effectively also an engine. Though the APU (engine) is the same, everything around it is now upgraded, including the intake/Door, Exhaust and cooling.
For the Engine (Powerplant) itself, this is a completely new design from CFM, so we look at what improvements GE made on the most sold engine ever, and why the LEAP family of engines will be with us for the next 50 years.
Runs approx 70mins
Part 3 -
Aircraft Systems
If you take an existing Airframe and install a new engine on it, things must be moved around/altered to accommodate the upgrades. This session looks at these changes and why they were necessary, plus the introduction of the first ever Fly by Wire system on a 737 – that of the Spoilers.
Runs approx 95mins
⭐️ Part 4
MCAS, The System that changed Aviation
MCAS was a topic that cost two aircraft losses, the death of 300+ people, and almost bankrupted Boeing.
This session looks at:
We round the session off with a discussion regarding the changes/upgrades to the system, and look at the changes the FAA have implemented to better ensure that something similar never occurs again.
Runs approx 65mins
