Our Story and the birth of The AME Membership

We’re Chris and Wendy – The Part 66 Consultants. Between us, we have over 50 years of aviation experience, from British Airways and DHL to licensed engineering across Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.

We now live in Melbourne, Australia with our 4 children and 2 dogs.

We are thankful for being able to work and live in many countries due to an amazing career in the aviation industry. But our journey hasn’t always been easy.

When 9/11 hit, Chris lost his job overnight. With two young kids and no income, he spent months desperately searching for work. That’s when a mentor named Ragnar stepped in with advice that changed everything:

“If you want it enough, you will find a way.”

With Ragnar's guidance, Chris rebuilt his career and made a promise: to pay it forward.

Over the years, that promise has shaped countless careers, including Mahmood – once an apprentice mechanic, now Base Maintenance Manager at Gulf Air.

Kindness, mentorship, and resilience have carried us through the hardest times – from a stranger gifting us a sack of potatoes when money ran out, to teaching online from a wardrobe during COVID lockdowns.

Those lessons inspired us to create The AME Membership – a community built to support aircraft engineers through every challenge.
